Arduino is an open-source electronic platform enabling users to create interactive electronic objects, including robots. This class is the beginning of the Arduino journey, focused on microcontrollers and circuits. It starts with wiring basic components like LEDs, resistors, potentiometers, buttons and switches. Students will learn how to wire components together and how to program a microcontroller for custom interfaces they build. This class includes a starter kit of components for students to take home.

Open to non-enrolled students.

Classic LEGO construction meets robotics. Through 'playful learning,' students explore basic engineering and coding and build creativity, teamwork and STEAM skills.  Each week introduces a fun new project using the LEGO Education kits and curriculum.

Older students will use the advanced, LEGO Spike Prime curriculum, while younger students will use the LEGO Spike Essential curriculum.

Classic LEGO construction meets robotics.  Students work in teams to build their robots, all of which include a wireless hub. Then, using a connected tablet and the LEGO app, builders use drag-and-drop coding to bring the robots to life. Lower grade students use the LEGO Essential kit and curriculum while older students work with the second-level, LEGO Education Prime kits and curriculum. 

Arbor School - Tualatin, OR

Advanced LEGO construction meets robotics. In this course, students will build on their creativity, engineering, and coding skills to create programmable robotic builds.

This class uses the LEGO Education PRIME curriculum, with supplemental, renegade builds along the way. Students will learn to create driving vehicles, combination locks, break-dancing robots, and so much more.

This course is limited to only students enrolled at Arbor School of Arts & Sciences. No non-school students may register.
