Classic LEGO construction meets robotics. Students explore basic engineering and coding and build creativity, teamwork and STEAM skills.  Younger students use the LEGO Education Spike Essential kits and curriculum, older students use the advanced LEGO Education Prime kits and curriculum.

 

Parents/caregivers are welcome to stay during the class, we have free wifi and will have free coffee/tea available as well! 

 

This class is open to all students, even those not enrolled at Le Monde French Immersion School.

Arduino is an open-source electronic platform enabling users to create interactive electronic objects, including robots. This class is the beginning of the Arduino journey, focused on microcontrollers and circuits. It starts with wiring basic components like LEDs, resistors, potentiometers, buttons and switches. Students will learn how to wire components together and how to program a microcontroller for custom interfaces they build. This class includes a starter kit of components for students to take home.

With LEGO Robotics in the morning and crafting, interactive science and reading in the afternoon, this is a fun and relaxed ‘playful learning’ kind of day. During breaks the kiddos have access to the many interactive exhibits in our Hands-On Museum, our menagerie of creatures, the supplies and inspiration in our Craft Lab and our cozy Science Library.

Cancellation Policy:

Earlier than 1 week prior to start date: 100% refund

Within 1 week of start date:  50% refund

On or after start date:  no refund
